Waking Nights Children's Support Worker - Learning Disabilities
Location: Warrington
Salary: £13.10 per hour
Shift patterns - Full time working 8pm - 8am (based on 39 hours per week)
We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our family home, caring for young people who have severe Learning disabilities, non verbal and complex needs who require personal care. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to provide care and support during the evening and overnight, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
The role can be emotionally and physically challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.
As a therapeutic care worker you will:
- Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for young people who have severe learning disabilities, are non verbal and have complex medical needs.
- Help with daily living needs include providing personal care.
- Provide emotional and physical support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations
- Build friendships and trusting relationships
- Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks
- Empower them to make decisions about themselves

What do you need?
- We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and emotionally resilient.
- Previous care experience, especially Learning disabilities, autism and complex care or transferable skills such as police, education, security or working with vulnerable people.
- Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
- Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
- Willing to provide personal care
