Salary: £24,570 - £25,935

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning for pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about inclusion and committed to creating a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment.

Working closely with teachers and specialist staff, you will provide tailored support to pupils, helping them to engage with learning, develop independence and build social and emotional resilience. You will use trauma-informed approaches, model positive behaviour and actively promote our EPIC values – Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Caring in all aspects of your work.

The successful candidate will:

• Support pupils’ learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Adapt support to meet individual needs under teacher guidance
• Help manage behaviour in line with school policies
• Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, professionalism and care

Our ideal candidate will have:

•  Experienced in supporting children or young people in an education or care setting
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable, with strong teamwork and communication skills
• Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and ongoing professional development
• Experience working with SEND, complex needs or trauma-informed settings is desirable, but not essential.
• A level 3 TA qualification is advantageous

About Oaklands Manor School:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new specialist service supporting male pupils with SEND who live in the adjoining Keys Group Residential Home. We deliver highly personalised education, carefully tailored to meet each pupil’s individual needs.

Set in a beautiful rural location, our recently refurbished school offers modern, well-equipped classrooms, access to outdoor learning, and a calm, therapeutic environment. With small, structured classes of up to eight pupils, high staff-to-pupil ratios and bespoke Education and Behaviour Plans, we support pupils towards nationally recognised qualifications from Entry Level to GCSE.

School tours are highly welcomed as a part of our interview selection process.
