Salary: £27,456 - £43,014 | Full Time (40 hours/week)

Purpose of the Role

To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils from KS2-KS3, including those with SEND and SEMH
  • Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support

Requirements

  • Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings
  • QTS/QTLS qualification is a requirement
  • Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning
  • Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
