Residential Support Worker Children's Homes

Location: Lisvane area of Cardiff

Salary: £13.45 - £14.15 per hour DOE  PLUS additional £3000 - £6000 pa for sleep-ins. (£62.64 per sleep-in)

Shift patterns - Part time hours working long days plus extra sleep in 

Full UK Driving licence is required.

We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our family home, caring for young people who have sometimes complex emotional difficulties. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.

What do you need?

  • We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and emotionally resilient.
  • Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
  • Experience and qualifications in care or transferable skills such as police, education, security or working with vulnerable people.
  • Ability to remain calm during sometimes challenging situations.
  • Full UK Driving licence is essential.
  • You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins.
