Wake Night Support Worker - Ross-on-Wye (HR9)

JOB ROLE: Wake Night Support Worker

LOCATION: Ross-on-Wye, Hereford (HR9)

SALARY: £12.60 to £13.30* per hour

SHIFTS: 21:00-07:00AM

Due to continued growth, we are seeking full time support workers (35 hours per week) to join our team based at Chepstow House, Ross on Wye!

 

About Chepstow House:

Based in the town of Ross-on-Wye, we have close links to the Forest of Dean, Wales and have excellent links to most places in England being at the end of the M50 we can access most of the midlands with a short drive.

We have 12 people currently living at Chepstow House with the home being able to house 13 with a variety of needs, including autism and learning disability, Dementia and ABI. We will provide End of Life care and work closely with the local district nursing team to enable the people we care for to die in their own home with dignity and respect, we will provide families with the support to enable them to have quality time and emotional support if needed. Full training is provided and full support for members of staff who are affected by this.

Chepstow House has a quiet and calm environment and is a lovely and rewarding place to work. We need staff who will support the individuals here with their personal daily needs and activities. The individuals like to go out into the community to do various things like cinema, bowling, eating out and shopping locally and going further afield to zoos, seaside and museums. Our house activities include baking, gardening arts and crafts, musical movement and karaoke just to name a few.

Transport Links – M50, A40, and A49 by car, bus or Taxi, train stations are found in Hereford and Gloucester (A40, A49) both 15 miles away. Public transport is close to the home.

 

As a Support Worker, you will be involved in the day to day support and routine of the people within the service including:

  • Prompting service users independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying service users to routine appointments or administrating medication
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping
  • Assisting with personal care (Depending on service user)
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking

Experience within the care sector is not essential as we offer full training, however what you do need is the enthusiasm and commitment to live our company values every day to ensure we move mountains to support people to live happy and healthy lives.
