Job Title: Children's Support Worker - learning disabilities
Job Location: Woolston, Southampton
Hours: Full-time (39 Hours) working various shift patterns including long days and sleep ins.
Salary: From £27,581 per annum (£13.60 per hour) PLUS additional £3k - £6k per annum for sleep ins.

We are looking for a resilient and nurturing Children's Support worker to join our family home, caring for young people who have severe learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, some of whom are non verbal and use wheelchairs. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.
The role can be emotionally challenging and you could be handling difficult situations BUT you could be the person to change a life for the better.
A level of personal care is required according to the child's needs.
What do you need?
- Previous relevant experience or transferable skills such as adult care, LD, SEN education or supporting vulnerable people.
- Physically able to operate hoist and lifting equipment.
- A real passion and desire to support children in a homely environment
- A good level of English communication skills, Makaton or BSL would be beneficial.
- Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
- Naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
- Full UK drivers licence would be beneficial.
