Senior Support Worker - (Driving Essential)

Service: Supported Accommodation for Looked After Children and Care Leavers

Job Role: Senior Support Worker – UK Driving licence with access to a vehicle essential

Location: Leeds, South Yorkshire

Salary:  £12.80 - £13.40* per hour / / £26,624 - £27,872* per annum

Full time positions are available. Must have Level 3 NVQ/QCF in Childcare

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a difference to young people’s lives. We are looking for committed and motivated team players with the passion and ambition to provide the very best support for young people in care and care leavers aged 16-21 living in the community.

Using our therapeutically informed and nurturing support, we help young people become successfully independent and ready for life after care. Many of them have had a difficult start in life and in this role, you will act as their role model and mentor - helping them develop their resilience, look after their safety and wellbeing, and help them develop essential life skills and support networks.

You will be part of an experienced team of support workers, senior support workers, service managers and regional managers that will work with you to support you in your day to day role. You will also be provided with all the training and development to succeed, as well as gain a social care qualification.

You must be able to drive and have UK Driving licence with access to a vehicle as you will be working with young people in semi-independent accommodation in the community, visiting them regularly and helping them attend various appointments.

In this role you will empower to support young people to:

· Develop individual choice, self-direction and essential life skills

· Live healthy, safe and fulfilled lives

· Find education, training or employment

· Build their self-esteem, confidence and resilience

· Understand their rights and entitlements

· Grow their support networks

· Understand their finances and learn budgeting skills

· Develop social skills so they can enjoy their lives to the full

As a team we work flexibly to meet the needs of young people 24/7, 365 days a year and have an out of hours on-call service of which you will be a part.
