Position Overview
The Management Accountant plays a key role in supporting strategic decision‑making by providing timely, accurate financial reporting and analysis. This role is responsible for preparing management accounts across all of Keys Health including ADHD, Autism and Therapy revenue streams, developing financial insights, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with excellent communication skills and a proactive, business‑partnering mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting
- Prepare monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting deadlines.
- Produce variance analysis with clear, actionable commentary to support decision‑making.
- Maintain and improve internal reporting packs, dashboards, and KPIs.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic reforecasts.
- Partner with budget holders to understand performance, risks, opportunities, and cost‑saving initiatives.
- Support long‑term financial planning and scenario modelling.
Financial Analysis
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
- Analyse key financial data in relation to capacity and demand planning, working closely with the contracts team to ensure that capacity is matched to funding received
- Provide insight into product, customer, or departmental profitability.
- Support business cases, investment appraisals, and cost‑benefit analyses.
Financial Controls & Processes
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and policies.
- Support month‑end and year‑end processes, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations.
- Drive process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Business Partnering
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Present financial results and insights in a clear, accessible way.
- Support operational teams in achieving financial targets and improving performance.
Systems & Tools
- Maintain financial models and reporting tools in Excel and/or Power BI.
- Contribute to finance system improvements and automation initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent Excel skills; experience with financial modelling.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
- Proven experience in management accounting or financial analysis.
Desirable
- Experience in health / care industry.
- Knowledge of Power BI or similar BI tools.
