Senior Commercial Analyst – Supported Living
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 P/A
Location: Remote with occasional travel
Working Pattern: 37.5hrs Mon - Fri
Job Purpose
Join us in a key finance role where you'll partner with operational leaders to turn data into meaningful insights. Supporting the Business Partner for Adults, you'll provide accurate, commercially focused analysis that helps drive performance, manage costs, and support informed decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant or analytical finance professional looking to make a real impact while building strong relationships across both finance and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Business partnering: Build effective relationships with operational colleagues, supporting the Business Partner for Adults in challenging assumptions and translating financial information into clear actions.
- Performance analysis: Review service-level performance, identify trends and highlight areas of opportunity or risk across revenue, occupancy, staffing, costs and EBITDA.
- Provide analysis and operational support: Address employment cost overruns and hours delivered above contracted levels.
- Budgets and forecasts: Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic reforecasts, ensuring inputs are accurate, evidenced and aligned to operational assumptions.
- Cost control: Monitor cost performance, investigate variances and support the implementation of practical cost control actions with operational teams.
- Fee negotiations and uplifts: Assist the Group Revenue Manager with fee uplift preparation, fee modelling and supporting analysis for local authority and commissioner discussions.
- Tenders and fee proposals: Prepare and maintain financial models for tender submissions, new placements and fee proposals, ensuring outputs are robust and commercially sound.
- Reporting and insight: Develop and maintain reporting packs, dashboards and Excel models that provide clear insight for operational decision-making.
- Financial action plans: Support the tracking and reporting of financial action plans, ensuring progress, ownership and expected benefits are visible.
- Data quality and process improvement: Work with finance colleagues to improve the consistency, accuracy and efficiency of reporting, modelling and control processes.
- Ad hoc support: Complete analysis and reporting as required to support business cases, service reviews, cost initiatives and wider divisional priorities.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA, or equivalent finance qualification.
- Analytical mindset with experience turning data into commercial recommendations.
- Highly organised, able to work to deadlines and manage competing demands.
- Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling; Power BI experience desirable.
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial controls.
- Strong commercial awareness, including tenders, pricing and operational performance.
- Confident in communicating financial insights to non-finance colleagues. And with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- Desirable: Supported Living, Care sector or multi-site experience.
