Package Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic committed professional to join us as an SENDCo
The successful candidate will:
- Support with the strategic development of SEND provision in the school
- Complete Annual Reviews, Interim reviews and Emergency Reviews of EHCP’s in line with the SEND code of practice
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
- Oversee the looked after pupils within the school
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
- Advise on the use of school’s budget and other resources to meet pupils’ needs effectively, including staff development
- Promote inclusion in the school community and access to the curriculum.
- Leading and managing staff and the effective deployment of staff and resources
- Lead on interventions that will support all pupils
- Quality assurance of Teaching and Learning with a focus on SEND provision
- Attend and review PEP meetings
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Have an accredited SENDCo qualification
- Hold QTS or QTL’s
- Are passionate about education and inclusion
- Have leadership experience and qualities
- Are ready to develop their leadership skills within a school
- Can effectively manage the SEND provision in partnership with the Headteacher

At New Ways College:
New Ways is an Outstanding Independent SEN School with two sites. Our KS3 students attend our school site in South Birmingham (B38), and our KS4 KS5 students attend our college site in North Worcestershire (B60). New Ways caters for 11-19 year olds who have special education needs relating mainly to Autism.
The school & college offers an environment that is safe and low sensory alongside an ambitious curriculum which includes a suite of GCSE’s and enrichment opportunities to ensure students achieve the very best outcomes possible and are fully prepared for their transition in to Further education, employment, training and adulthood following the introduction (Sept 24) of our vocational curriculum offer at our college site that includes Child Development, Hair & Beauty and Hospitality.
