SEND Teacher - Snow Hill School, 50-58 Snowhill, Stoke on Trent, ST1 4LY 


Salary: £28,288 - £44,304 | Full Time (40 hours/week)


Purpose of the Role

To plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching that meets the diverse needs of pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. The Teacher will model professional integrity and the EPIC values, work collaboratively within the school community, and adhere strictly to the Staff Code of Conduct to promote a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment.

We are a small independent school who support students which may have previously experienced difficulties accessing in their education We are committed to ensuring that all students learn and are engaged in the appropriate programme of study, which allows them to successfully re-engage with education and to achieve their very best outcomes.


We offer a very broad and balanced curriculum that enables pupils to undertake examinations and gain qualifications including GCSE’s, BTECs and functional skills, we also have access to a wide range of adventurous subjects which include water sports, mountain biking, archery, horse-riding etc.


Key Responsibilities

  • Providing professional learning and development for all pupils through establishing personalised learning routes as a generalist teacher
  • Help and support individual pupils as required and encouraging them to research topics themselves
  • Keep a register of pupils' attendance, set assignments and homework, mark pupils work, record completion, write progress reports and carry out continuous assessment

Requirements

  • A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
  • At least two years’ experience minimum of working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision 
  • QTS/QTLS is a requirement
