Alternative Learning is looking for an inspiring SEN Tutor to support vulnerable students on a 1:1 basis in Maths, English and PSHE at KS3. We support a range of learners across Keys stages 3 -5 to re-engage with education, gain accredited qualifications and transition to a positive destination.
We support young people who are unable to access mainstream education due to SEMH needs, EBSNA, anxiety or SEND needs. Our personalised approach includes face-to-face home tuition, online lessons, enrichment activities, outdoor education and EHCP linked therapeutic intervention.

- Support with resource creation, schemes of work and innovation from our curriculum leadership team
- You will feel part of the team, regularly supported and invited to team meetings, coffee mornings and holistic reviews of the children
- Laptop and other essential equipment provided
- Access to all systems and subscriptions including AI powered resource creation
- A regular and consistent timetable to help you plan your diary in half termly chunks
- We empower our tutors to have their say on the curriculum offer for every child. This includes soft skills, numeracy/literacy, cooking, re-accessing the community and more
- Opportunity to complete exams with learners as we are a registered exam centre for Functional Skills, AQA unit award, Outdoor Ed quals, ASDAN, Open Awards, PSHE modular qualifications and more
Requirements:
- QTS/QTLS is essential
- A committed and passionate view of students with SEND
- Experience of tuition of children with SEND or SEMH needs
- Must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to your own vehicle, and be able to provide evidence of valid business insurance and a current MOT.
