Quality Manager

Job title: Quality Manager

Salary: up to £50,000

Location: Home based and willing to travel throughout the UK as required. Posts required for North of England and South of England

Duties and Responsibilities  

Internal Monitoring & Quality Improvement 

  1. As an integral part of the Quality Department, the Quality Manager is responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of robust quality management systems ensuring the company’s statutory duties are fulfilled and exceeded.  

  1. Ensure systems and services are monitored, reviewed and supported to continually improve quality and outcomes for the people we care and support.  

  1. To be a key driver within the company and responsible for the dissemination and adoption of best practice.  

  1. To ensure service managers are fully compliant with company policies and procedures governing their service, and maintain a system of monitoring through regular audit checks.  

  1. To support service managers to formulate action plans arising from all internal audit, quality support activity and regulatory inspections reports and monitor services progress in addressing actions to ensure all requirements are met.  

  1. To ensure that service managers keep accurate and up to date records to comply with regulatory requirements.  

  1. To monitor and feedback to the Associate Director of Quality any potential shortfalls or practice issues in services, shortfalls in mandatory training requirements or any other issues which could impact on service delivery, outcomes for people, the regulation or reputation of the service.  

  1. To provide professional guidance and up to date advice on all regulatory and legislative changes affecting the provision of adult social care. 

  1. To work in conjunction with the Associate Director Quality, to produce monthly management information and reports as required.  

  1. To ensure action plans, targets and deadlines are issued where gaps are identified through the audit process to ensure services are operating to and above expected standards.  

  1. To represent the company externally, providing feedback and advice on relevant developments and best practice.  

  1. To undertake project work as required and be responsible for the implementation of the outcome of the project.  

  1. To carry out internal audits in line with protocol as required. 

  1. To report any immediate concerns in relation to the homes to the Associate Director Quality. 

  1. To ensure the reports are typed, professional and managed within the required time scales. 

  1. To provide support, coaching and guidance to services in promoting continual quality improvement.  

Policies  

  1. To review Care Policies and Quality Policies up to date and in line with legislation in England and Wales. 

 

Working with other Departments  

  1. To work closely with the all other teams in relation to quality and regulatory matters.  

  1. To provide advice, guidance and support to Operational Teams. 

  1. To assist in the training, workshops, conferences and forums as required. 

  1. To be an effective communicator, who is able to adapt styles to suit audience and engage others. 

Meetings 

  1. To attend and contribute to meetings as and when required. 

Health and Safety 

  1. To ensure adhere to company is compliant with Health and Safety Legislation. 

Personal Specification 

Job Title: Quality Manager  

Reports to:  Associate Director Quality 

Criteria: 

  • Third Level Qualification in relevant healthcare discipline such as DIPSW, RGN/RMN, QCF Level 5 or equivalent. 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience at a management level within a multi-sited organisation operating within a regulated environment. 

  • To have previous proven experience and/or extensive knowledge of operational governance and monitoring standards to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. 

  • To have previous proven experience of achieving results through people.  

  • To have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at senior level. 

  • To have a high level of literacy and experience of report writing and action plans. 

  • To be self-motivated and driven to expect the highest standards 

  • Driving License and access to a car. 

  • Ability to travel throughout UK.
