Outdoor Activity Instructor

 £24,960 – £28,000 (depending on qualifications)

Peak Activity are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, and driven Outdoor Instructors to join our team at Astbury Watersports Centre, located at the scenic Astbury Mere, just a short drive from Congleton town centre.

Astbury Watersports Centre is a fantastic location for delivering a wide range of watersports and land-based activities. From canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding to engaging land activities, we welcome participants of all ages and abilities.

Our leisure season is particularly busy from April to October, but the centre operates year-round for group bookings, including schools, youth groups, and corporate team-building days, with bespoke activity packages to suit different needs and budgets. With such a diverse programme, no two days are ever the same.

Who We’re Looking For

As an Outdoor Instructor, you will deliver activities that are safe, engaging, and professionally delivered, ensuring participants achieve high-quality learning outcomes.

You should:

  • Have excellent communication and people skills
  • Be confident leading and managing groups, even in challenging situations
  • Be motivated, positive, and enthusiastic about outdoor learning
  • Ideally have previous experience in a similar role (although attitude and enthusiasm are just as important)

Required Qualifications

Applicants must hold at least one of the following (desirable qualifications expected):

  • RCI or CWI or other relevant ropes-based qualification
  • Archery GB Instructor Award
  • Mountain Bike Leader/Instructor or equivalent
  • Paddlesports Instructor/Coach or equivalent
  • RYA Instructor or equivalent
  • DofE Assessor
  • Bushcraft Practitioner
  • ML or HML Award or equivalent
  • RPIOL or equivalent
  • Valid First Aid Qualification
