Reports to: Associate Clinical Director- Adults 

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (negotiable) 

Location: Home based with National Travel  

Benefits: £3,600 Car Allowance, 25 days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays, Mileage

18p-23p per mile, Registration Funding Yearly  

 

Job Purpose 

Working as part of Keys Group Adult Clinical Services to provide direct and indirect Nursing input for adults placed within our learning disability, mental health and Acquired Brain Injury services. The role primarily involves providing assessment, intervention and consultation to support the provision of high-quality services for Adults in the Keys Group Supported Living, Residential Homes and Acquired Brain Injury Services. 

This role reports into our Associate Clinical Director Diane Palmer and this opportunity offers great work-life balance and flexibility. Main Duties and Responsibilities 

CLINICAL 

  • To provide specialist RNLD input to Keys service within the designated region, including providing clinical support and advice to professional colleagues. 

  • To formulate, contribute to, and oversee the development and implementation of person-centred care plans for service users, ensuring these are co-produced and/or communicated to service users in their preferred method of communication.  

  • To provide specialist advice and guidance on Autistic Spectrum Disorders. 

  • To undertake therapeutic interventions appropriate to the work of the Keys Group, drawing on a range of evidence-based methods, models and tools as appropriate. 

  • To adhere to NICE guidelines. 

  • To provide guidance to staff in relation to the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act. 

  • To be responsible for providing a specialist RNLD perspective in the assessment of adults referred to the Keys Group Learning Disability services within the designated region. 

  • To consult with and provide specialist Nursing guidance to staff, and where appropriate, families and other professionals. 

  • To contribute to, or lead, Complex Case Discussions, High Risk Enablement Panels and Mortality Review meetings. 

  • To work collaboratively with Safeguarding colleagues and to follow Keys Group Safeguarding policies and procedures. 

  • To provide person centred care through a Trauma Informed Approach. 

  • To communicate respectfully, compassionately and effectively with all colleagues, service users, families and external stakeholders. 

  • To maintain professional boundaries at all times. 

  • To ensure robust risk management and to report all accidents or incidents. 

  • To provide Safe, Effective, Responsive, caring and well led clinical support, in line with the regulatory requirements of the CQC or CIW. 

 

TEACHING/ TRAINING/ SUPERVISION/ CONSULTATION 

  • To provide training and advice in Nursing approaches to care teams and to share skills and learning with internal and external professionals as appropriate.  

  • To consult with and advise colleagues from other professions on Nursing assessment and treatment methods 

  • To support, guide and supervise students and trainees. 

 

POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT 

  • To participate in meetings concerned with the delivery and development of clinical services and contribute an RNLD perspective as appropriate. 

  • To contribute as required to the planning and development of operational policies and service delivery through undertaking agreed project work. 

  • To advise service and professional management on areas of service where issues of Nursing needs should be addressed and to take an agreed key role in implementing any required changes. 

  • To develop and maintain good communication links with Local Authorities, NHS services and other appropriate agencies.  

 

EVALUATION/RESEARCH/DEVELOPMENT 

  • To remain informed of and critically evaluate current research to support evidence-based practice in own professional work and to contribute this perspective in the practice and development of the Keys Group Services.  

  • To help to coordinate administration of agreed outcome measures within the designated region.  
  • In agreement with the Associate Clinical Director for Adults to initiate and conduct research relevant to the care of adults with complex needs. 

 

PROFESSIONAL/ADMINISTRATIVE 

  • To participate positively in regular management and clinical supervision, and an annual Appraisal. 

  • To work within the Code of Ethics and the relevant professional practice guidelines of the Royal College of Nursing and the professional guidance frameworks of the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the Keys Group. 

  • To work within the framework of the policies and procedures of the Keys Group 

  • To adhere to Keys Group EPIC Values (Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Caring) 

  • To be responsible for relevant data collection on work activities, as required, and to maintain a high standard of clinical record keeping 
  • To take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and others that may be affected by your acts or omissions. 

  • To carry out such other duties as agreed with the Associate Clinical Director. 

  • To undertake any reasonable travelling requirements in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role.  

 

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, SUPERVISION AND TRAINING 

  • Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise, attending and participating in learning and development events, meetings, conferences, and events (as requested/approved by the Associate Clinical Director for Adults) to ensure up to date knowledge relevant to the role and service development. 

  • Attend and participate in regular team and other meetings, both internal and external

  • All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all matters they may learn relating to their employment, other members of staff and the general public. 
  • To assist with any other ad hoc duties commensurate to the job role and pay scale, as directed by management.
