Salary: £45,000

Location: National (remote) ideally located in the Midlands / North Midlands area
Hours: 37.5hrs per week

As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide clear reporting, practical guidance and hands‑on support to managers and colleagues. With involvement in policy development, training, project work and incident learning, this position offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a positive and proactive health and safety culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular health and safety audits and reviews across the organization.
- Create clear audit reports and action plans and track their progress.
- Assist Service Managers in building and maintaining effective health and safety systems.
- Support the review of health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, documentation, and audit templates.
- Conduct investigations relating to accidents and incidents where required.
- Keep health and safety knowledge current and maintain ongoing personal continuing professional development
- Support with incident investigations including following RIDDOR reportable incidents.
- Assist answering health and safety queries.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to operations.
- Lead in training and development of our colleagues as required.
- Be involved in project work.
Requirements:
- Essential: NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Essential: Experience of working in a similar health and safety role.
- Essential: Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations in relation to the health and social care or education sector.
- Essential: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work with and influence people at all levels within the organisation.
- Essential: A Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
- Desirable: A qualification in Fire Safety would be advantageous
- Desirable: Experience dealing with a primary authority scheme (PAS) with a fire and rescue service.
- Desirable: A teaching qualification or Mentoring/Coaching experience.
