Head of Housing  

Salary: £65,000

Car Allowance: £3,600 per annum

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent 

Location: Hybrid working with national travel 

Role Overview:

As the Head of Housing, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic expansion and development of our housing portfolio. You will oversee the end-to-end process of sourcing, acquiring, and developing properties into specialist residential homes that meet the needs of our vulnerable residents. This role is integral to ensuring that our properties are well-positioned to deliver the highest standards of care, safety, and comfort. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute Key’s housing acquisition strategy in alignment with overall business goals, ensuring timely delivery of new residential homes across targeted regions in England and Wales.
  • Property Acquisition and Development: Identify, evaluate, and acquire suitable properties for conversion into specialist residential homes, managing the entire acquisition process including negotiations, due diligence, and compliance checks.
  • Project Management: Oversee the design and development of residential properties, ensuring they meet regulatory standards, are within budget, and are completed on schedule. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and external partners to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all housing projects comply with health and safety regulations, building codes, and relevant housing legislation. Maintain quality assurance standards to deliver residential homes that promote the welfare of residents.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Operations, Care Services, and Finance teams to align housing strategies with the broader operational and business objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, health and social care commissioners, regulatory bodies, and other community partners.
  • Budget and Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for housing projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and achieving financial targets. Prepare regular reports and analysis senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in senior housing management, real estate development, or property acquisition, ideally within the health or social care sector- Essential
  • Strong understanding of housing regulations, compliance, and industry standards in England and Wales- Essential
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from initial acquisition to completion, including financial oversight- Essential
