Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to build safer, more positive futures?

We are seeking Future Focused Mentors to deliver targeted interventions that support engagement, wellbeing and re-entry into education.

About the Role

As a Future Focused Mentor, you’ll support young people who may be at risk of:

• Exploitation or criminal involvement
• School disengagement or exclusion
• Online harm or unsafe relationships

You’ll work creatively and compassionately to help them build resilience, self-esteem, and safer life choices.

This role is self-employed and requires a minimum commitment of two days per week, with potential for up to five days depending on case availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong, trusted relationships with young people and families
• Deliver engaging 1:1 intervention in community and education settings
• Promote confidence, emotional regulation, and positive decision-making
• Maintain detailed case records and professional reports
• Uphold safeguarding policies at all times
• Support sessions on: Healthy Relationships, Online Safety, and County Lines & Exploitation Awareness

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Experience working with vulnerable children and young people, particularly those at risk of exploitation or within the criminal justice system.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding.

Key Skills:

• Resilient, calm and professional.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of SEND, trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour strategies.

Additional Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance.
• Flexible and able to work across Suffolk (not Ipswich only).
