Post:                                        Deputy Independent Visitor – Full Time                

Reports to:                             Head of the Independent Visitor Service

Objective of Position:           To complete monthly Independent Visits.                     

                                                To line manage independent visitors and provide

                                                supervision, support, training and development.

Location:                                The UK

We are looking for people with a background in managing Residential Children's Homes and working as a Reg 44 Inspector.           

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.         To carry out Regulation 44 and monthly monitoring visits to homes throughout the UK.

2.         To be the line manager for a number of independent visitors (7-8) To provide supervision, appraisals, probationary reviews, support visits, telephone support, report assessments, training and development.

3.         To problem solve i.e. give advice, visit queries, raising concerns, covering absence, managing complaints.

4.         To complete a weekly report in relation to concerns identified by independent visitors during visits.

5.         To provide training and development for the team.

7.         To ensure that all homes receive an independent visit once per month.

8.         To conduct interviews and induction training for new independent visitors.

9.         To review the independent visitor process and reports.

10.       To liaise with regional managers, directors and heads of services.

11.       To deputise and take responsibility in other Deputy independent visitors or the Head of Services absence.
