Residential Support Worker Children's Homes

Location: Wolverhampton

Salary: £24,336 - £25,755 plus £3000 - £6000 pa for sleep-ins. (£62.64 per sleep-in)

Shift patterns - Full time working long days plus extra sleep in (approx. 4-6 sleep ins per month)

Full UK Driving licence is required.

We are looking for a children's support worker to become part of our happy family home, caring for young people who have sometimes emotional difficulties. You would be the person to give encouragement and praise when needed, to be patient and understanding during times of crisis and to inspire them to grow and develop.

We also have lots of fun so It is essential that you love activities including LEGO, long walks, cinema and sports of all kinds.

What do you need?

• We want people who are naturally caring, flexible and emotionally resilient.
• Great communication skills, positive and energetic.
• Experience and qualifications in care or transferable skills such as police, education, sports, childcare, education or working with vulnerable people.
• Really want to share your lives with young people, passionate about making a difference.
• Full UK Driving licence is essential.
• You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins

As a Children's support worker you will:

• Be part of a caring team that provides a safe and loving home for children and young people
• Act as a positive role model to to give encouragement and praise.
• Inspire our young people on a daily basis.
• Provide emotional support to allow the children to reach their full potential in sometimes challenging situations
• Build friendships and trusting relationships
• Help them to find pleasure in everyday tasks
• Empower them to make decisions about themselves
