Children's Support Worker - Shrewsbury

Job Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker

Location: Shrewsbury

Salary: £24.3k - £25.7k per year + additional £4,000-£8,000 per year for sleep-ins 

Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week

Driving Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence is required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people feel loved and supported.
  • Be a positive role model, guiding them through daily routines and helping them develop life skills.
  • Engage in fun and meaningful activities, from football and cycling to PlayStation gaming and baking.
  • Share and encourage hobbies, passions, and interests to inspire growth and confidence.
  • Assist with essential household tasks, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a welcoming environment.
  • Offer both emotional and physical support, empowering children to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.
  • Build trusting relationships that help foster meaningful connections and personal growth.
  • Empower young people to take an active role in shaping their own future and making decisions about their lives.

Requirements:

  • A genuine ability to connect with young people, share interests, offer encouragement, and actively engage in activities.
  • A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • Must be over the age of 21
  • Willingness and flexibility to work shifts and sleep-ins as part of the role.
